I have been teaching in DeKalb County since 1997 and have taught a variety of courses, including Life Science, Physical Science, Biology for Technology, Freshman PACE, Biology I , Honors Biology II and Math 2 RTI

Since 2012 I have also been teaching DeKalb County adults in what had been called the GED program, now known as High School Equivalency classes.

Born in Massachusetts, my parents moved to South Florida when I was one year old.  I grew up in Hollywood, FL and graduated from Madonna Academy (an all girls college preparatory school) which has since joined with Chaminade High School.  I am the oldest of 7 siblings, the only one not living in Florida still.  My husband is Mike Carpenter, the pastor of Whorton Springs Baptist Church, and we have two sons who attended DeKalb West School and graduated from DCHS.  We also have a grandaughter, now enrolled in DeKalb County School System.
